Stuff stuff and more stuff

Ray and I started house sitting almost a year ago. Really most of the time it's nice, we got to save up a bit of money since we had no rent. But the homeowners are coming home and we have to clean. Unfortunately I also have papers due on Monday and Tuesday in school. So today with a little help I cleaned and wrote papers. Not a lot of fun on my Saturday.

So anyway Ray and I saved up a bit of money but unless we can find a house sitting place for like two years we'll never save up enough money to buy a home in this area. We found a house we absolutely love. Problem: our payments would be about half of what we get a month, not leaving us enough to pay other bills and live. And that is a cheap house in our area. Oh sure there are cheaper most of them built 30-40 years ago and have never been updated. I have looked at some horrible houses around here. One house was $200,00o with a whole in the living room ceiling. All the insulation was hanging out, there was no carpet because the ceiling leaked and the carpet was ruined. And the rest of the house wasn't much better. I really hate living in an area of smart rich scientists. Things are way too expensive for us normal people.

Oh by the way the house we are house sitting in is an area where the houses are 30-40 years old and they go for $300 to $400 thousand. Yikes!

Tag!

7 Interesting things about me.

This might be slightly hard, I don't really think I'm that interesting.

1. I am absolutely loving my job at the middle school this year

2. I love Ice Cream, I could eat it once (or twice) a day.

3. I really like mythical things, like vampires, fairies, witches, werewolves.

4. I love to buy things for other people, unfortunately I don't have the money to always do that.

5. I enjoy writing. I have many interesting stories rolling around in my head, most of them from dreams I've had (and most about vampires).

6. I sometimes have a hard time believing what people tell me. A person lied to me a lot growing up so, it's hard to believe people.

7. When I was in high school still, I really wanted to wear glasses and have braces. Yep I was a nerd, well, I got the glasses anyway.

So I wouldn't know who to tag, maybe Beth and Julia...

NM History

Well, I have to take NM History for my major and let me tell you I have an annoying teacher. To point out some bigger problems. I just don't understand why we have to learn the three different ways people said Christopher Columbus' name, why do I have to listen to Zona Arida instead of Arizona? I also wonder why we are 4 weeks behind...oh wait maybe it's because he gets off track constantly. We spent a class period (3 hours) worth talking about Spain, half a class talking about ancient medicine, watched movies about an Indian calendar. Also, I get tired of hearing him say stuff in Spanish all the time. Last time I checked the main language in the US was English. I'm just glad I am down to 3 weeks left.

"Wordless" Wednesday-haha

So this week I got a cold. It wasn't too bad really...until I lost my voice. Tuesday when I went to work I just hadn't slept well, my nose ran all night long (an no I couldn't catch it). By the time I finished work it was weezy (the bast way I can think to describe it). I then had to go to class for 3 hours (which was pointless, maybe another blog). By Wednesday morning it was gone. So sad, I had to drive to work (20 minutes) without singing AT ALL. And let me tell you, for me it was like the worst punishment possible! Anywho, the teachers I work with were also celebrating my Birthday that morning with breakfast, and I couldn't really talk at it. Suckage. My luck was that by the end of the day (when I didn't need to talk) I was mostly fine. Today I was weezy again. Seriously this was the worst I've ever lost my voice and I hope it never happens again.

Ray's shoes

Ray bought a new pair of shoes. They had this little knob on the side and we couldn't figure out what it was for. Ray got home and figured it out when it came with a little wrench and funnel. It has flasks in the heel!

Our Trip

Hello all I was told I needed to write on here more. Well hopefull this will be a long post and make up for my lack of speedy posts.

Ray and I went on a week trip to visit family. We flew to Utah (with his parents) rented a car and drove to his grandparents home in Idaho. They live in a small town near Rexburg population 500 or so. There was still snow piled higher than cars in the church parking lot. I don't remember seeing so much flat land as there was there.

We spent 3 1/2 days there, where we also saw some of his Uncles and Aunts, did an egg coloring contest with one and I won 85 cents! Woo-hoo! Rays Uncle did a dollar for first (didn't get that) two seconds at 50 cents three thirds for a quarter four forths at 15 cents and five fifths for ten cents (there might have been more). I also tried my first Thai food. The place we went was yummy!

On Sunday (we left on Wednesday) we spent half the day at his grandparents house and then left to go back to Utah. We arrived in Utah and ate dinner at another Aunts house (turkey, mashed potatoes, veggies, DEVILED EGGs) it was great! Then we left to see Trent and Natalie (Ray best friend and his wife). We stayed at his aunts house and went to Centerville on Monday to stay with my Grandma (Rays parents stayed with another Aunt). On Monday night we went with some friends on a date to the Mayan, this is a themed restaurant in Sandy. This night they were doing fire stuff. On the video you don't need sound.

Tuesday was Joanna and I time (Ray went to play video games with Trent). We ran a few errands, ate lunch, got some Cold Stone, and a couple movies. I picked up a Birthday present from my mom while I was there.

Wednesday was the day we traveled home. We flew into Albuquerque and went to the Texas Road House for my Birthday dinner. they have a birthday thing where they make you sit on a saddle attached to a mobile thing. I wonder if they do this to keep people from lying about it being their Birthday. There was also about 6 other birthdays while we were there.

ok so I can't figure out how to turn this picture. You can barely see the saddle.

It was a great trip but I'm sooooo glad to be home.

Take this test!
You're a bold, confident orange. A warm, powerful color that indicates a strong, welcoming personality, orange is the mark of people who are social and extroverted by nature. Vibrant, with an upbeat attitude, you have a bright, inviting demeanor. Energetic and fun-loving, you're a real friend-magnet. Your easy charm and unassuming manner make you the sort of person people want to meet and get to know better. Well-rounded and fun to be around, you enjoy helping others, so it's no surprise that orange also symbolizes attraction. Orange is an extraordinary color — for an extraordinary person.
