Rose's Blessing

WE ended up blessing Rose at home since my dad was only here for a short time and I really wanted him to be there. It was anice day and we took a fewpictures afterward. My mom made her dress. It was perfect!

Ed and his friend showed his nephews how to make their ties
look like bow ties.

Way behind

Well it seems I'm way behind on my posts. Since my last post my little Rose has been born. She decided to scare mommy and daddy and come six weeks early.

I woke up at 3 am to find I was gushing. I knew I wasn't peeing my pants since I had gone about 15 minutes earlier. We rushed to the hospital (after waking my mom up to ask her about it) to find indeed my water had broken. They hooked me up to an IV (it took three pokes, ouch!) and started giving me penicilin and a steroid for Rose. The doctors kept me this way for two days to give the steroids time to work. I was going crazy in bed for those two days. (I now REALLY feel for those who have to be on bedrest) Finally, on Friday they let me go with a little help (half the pitocin they usually use to start you since I was already contracting)

Rose came at 1:27 in the afternoon, she was 18 in and 5 lbs. She came out and started crying right away. The doctors were very pleased since she was so early, it meant her lungs were doing well. She only spent a week in the hospital.

I was very relieved that the labor wasn't as bad as I'd always feared...okay I had an epidural I didn't feel a thing! I did however get to listen to the girl in the next room (she didn't have an epidural until she had been in labor for about five hours) scream. and scream, and scream. Until finally Ed put headphones on me and I listened to music really loud and cried while he listened to her.

Ed did a wonderful job he was at my side the whole time. Helping me to the bathroom in the beginning, getting me water. He watched her come out and went with her to the NICU when I had to stay in the room. I love that man so much.
