Lego Spiderman

Our home teachers son died last year (I can't remember what it was exactly) but he had been sick for a long time. This year some people from the ward and a local elementary school are doing a tree for him at the festival of trees. For those who don't know what that is, every year at Christmas people donate decorated trees, quilts, and all kinds of things that people buy in a silent auction. All the proceeds go to a hospital here in Utah. They invited people in the ward to participate and I decided to go along with the theme (red, yellow and blue, legos, superheroes) and make a quilt top. This is my finished product...well just the top.

Halloween

We decided to make Rose Raggedy Ann for Halloween. I made the costume and she was quite cute.

My sister gave us a ballet outfit that daddy was sooooo excited to put her in.

Thanks Mom for the cute dress. She will be able to wear it for a while.

New-ish pictures

Finally new pictures of the pipsqueak. Although they are a couple months old they are newer.

Things have been busy for me lately, work has been crazy. I feel bad for any time I do something outside of work without Rose. Last Thursday Ed and I decided to go to the temple which was much needed and a wonderful experience but I felt bad afterward for not spending that time with Rose. It's definitely hard balancing work, a baby and everything else.

Lately it has been real busy around my house. My manager was off for a week and I had the weekend after off, so I worked 11 days straight. It was hard (especially since everything went to pot while she was gone) but I managed.

After my 11 days we went camping with our ward. The only way Ed could get me to go was to borrow his parents tent trailer. It was actually perfect because then we had a heater at night, and we could heat water for Rose. We ended up having a good time and eating some great food by members of our ward (and yummy roasted marshmallows). It was just an over nighter and Ed unfortunately didn't get to go for a hike (he thinks he broke his toe the day before we went). I did find it funny that they announced the bishopric would be making breakfast (before we went) and only the Bishop was there and he wasn't even helping.

Rose is getting bigger. Many people still think she is a newborn. She is almost 4 months now. It is a lot more fun playing with her now that she responds. I have started blowing on her tummy when I change her and she laughs as long as she is not too hungry. When that happens she is just to fussy and it's hurry hurry hurry. We think she is teething, her gums are feeling a little ridgy and she is extremely fussy. Mostly in the afternoon though.

We got Ed's acceptance letter to Weber and he will hopefully start in the fall. We still have a lot to do though before he can go. He has to talk to an advisor about what classes to take because for his major they sometimes want them to take specific core classes. We also found out we didn't do everything for financial aide. We had to fill out the fafsa (which we did) and apply with Weber for financial aide, and bring in our taxes and w-2s from last year. I know we have them somewhere...
Anyway they told us after we do that it's still six weeks (about) until we can get anything. Which is after tuition is due, but they won't drop him from class, we just have to pay a $40 dollar late fee. I have decided I HATE big universities. Even when I was trying to go there it was a lot of crud. We also walked a little of the campus it is way to big for my taste.

I'll have to start taking more pictures to post for Grandma. We'll see how that goes....

New Rose Pictures

While my sister was visiting she took some pictures. Rose went cross-eyed for this picture.

While taking pictures with Grandma Star was holding Roses foot. It was so cute!

Rose's Blessing

WE ended up blessing Rose at home since my dad was only here for a short time and I really wanted him to be there. It was anice day and we took a fewpictures afterward. My mom made her dress. It was perfect!

Ed and his friend showed his nephews how to make their ties
look like bow ties.

Way behind

Well it seems I'm way behind on my posts. Since my last post my little Rose has been born. She decided to scare mommy and daddy and come six weeks early.

I woke up at 3 am to find I was gushing. I knew I wasn't peeing my pants since I had gone about 15 minutes earlier. We rushed to the hospital (after waking my mom up to ask her about it) to find indeed my water had broken. They hooked me up to an IV (it took three pokes, ouch!) and started giving me penicilin and a steroid for Rose. The doctors kept me this way for two days to give the steroids time to work. I was going crazy in bed for those two days. (I now REALLY feel for those who have to be on bedrest) Finally, on Friday they let me go with a little help (half the pitocin they usually use to start you since I was already contracting)

Rose came at 1:27 in the afternoon, she was 18 in and 5 lbs. She came out and started crying right away. The doctors were very pleased since she was so early, it meant her lungs were doing well. She only spent a week in the hospital.

I was very relieved that the labor wasn't as bad as I'd always feared...okay I had an epidural I didn't feel a thing! I did however get to listen to the girl in the next room (she didn't have an epidural until she had been in labor for about five hours) scream. and scream, and scream. Until finally Ed put headphones on me and I listened to music really loud and cried while he listened to her.

Ed did a wonderful job he was at my side the whole time. Helping me to the bathroom in the beginning, getting me water. He watched her come out and went with her to the NICU when I had to stay in the room. I love that man so much.

What do I do?

Today is my Birthday, I am 27 as off two minutes ago. I was supposed to work this morning but due to circumstances at work, I am off. (I worked yesterday instead)
Ed is at work, my sister is at work, my brother is in class (I think), my Grandma isn't home, nor can I call someone to talk. I am not quite sure what to do with myself.
I am antsy to do something other than sit in front of the TV, but being Pregnant I am limited as to what I can do.
There is a lot to do to prepare for the baby coming but first I must decide if I am going to paint the room. It is dark brown panneling with one window about the size of a normal bathroom window. It is dark like a cave. Though painting presents another problem I am not supposed to do it because of the fumes. However, I can't move anything in that room until I decide what to do and do it.
Which leads to I have the messiest (is that right?) house in the world and am desperately needing to clean. Of course most of the items are going to go in the corner of the babies room. Leading back to painting.
I also can't do much lifting since I'm sure the boxes are heavier than I am supposed to lift. Meaning I need someone there to help.
The whole point of this post being I don't know what to do with myself when I don't work now.

Hawaii

We had a lot of fun on our trip to Hawaii. Unfortunately the most pictures we have were taken by my sister since we are not big picture takers. Ok so I am just retarded when it comes to moving these pictures. I can never figure it out.

Third Trimester

I am finally about to start my third trimester. Sometimes I feel like the time will never end and sometimes I go hey where did the last three months go? We haven't really done anything to get ready yet. We are trying not to have to up our rent too early. Our apartment right now is a one bedroom but it is made so it can be a two bedroom but that means we have to pay more. We will get it in plenty of time before Rose (my sisters idea of a name for my blog, and we liked it) comes.

We are going to Hawaii next week to see my sister. Yahoo! Thank you income tax returns. We are only going for a week so it will be a short trip but it will still be fun and definitely worth it.

Well I thought I had more to post but my mind is blank.

Amazing

My little one... I haven't thought of anything good to call her on here yet...is getting big enough that I can definitely feel her. I can also feel a pulse outside when she kicks. The other day she was kicking and I put Ed's hand there when he felt her he gave me a look like "WHAT THE HECK?" It was really funny.

Unfortunately I have a cough and sore throat. It really sucks since I have no idea what I can take for it. Except Tylenol and that doesn't really work for this. My nose hasn't started running yet though I'm sure it's not far behind and then I don't know how I'll sleep without NyQuil.

My hunny and I also bought a van this week. It is a Honda Odyssey, 04 with 100,000 miles. It was really hard to go from a car with 50,000 miles to that. Other wise I don't mind. One summer I drove my parents van to work and back and have really liked vans since. And I really like the Odyssey. Actually I just like Honda anything.

I am accumulating a lot of baby stuff though we haven't actually bought anything ourselves yet. I have four trash bags full of clothes, (ages ranging I'm sure) a boppy, a car seat, a gate (though I won't really need it for a while), bottles bumper pads...and more. It's crazy to have people around to just give you things. But I am very thankful.
