If others can do it, I can

I am writing this in a frustrated mood.

My Kitchen does not have enough counter space. I can't stand that I have to use my cookbook as a cutting board since I have no where else to put it.

Dear Kitchenaid,
I love my mixer. I hate that it is right hand oriented. It has a plastic cover so you can add ingredients and not get them all over while its running. It is on the right side and isn't any cleaner for me to twist my left hand to use it. (This one I actually sent to the company)

Dear Rose,
Please stop throwing your food on the floor. I hate that, especially since your chair is on carpet. Please stop taking everything out of mommys purse and dropping it on the floor. It is frustrating to have to pick it up everyday.

Dear Stove,
I used a burner and it worked fine. I used it again and it caught fire. I don't understand why you are so tempermental. I also ended up burning my gravy. Which I had not done before today.

Dear me,
I really need a break. My head is loose and sometimes missing. Like when I saw the light going the other way turn green and I started to go. I need to put less on my plate. When will things calm down?

Rose walking

Rose's 1st Birthday-Warning shirtless baby

My little skunk...maybe I should call her that on here. hehe. Turned one last Saturday. We had a nice little family party to celebrate.
I got up early on Saturday to decorate her cake. I almost didn't finish it when the cake fell apart as I was taking it out of the pan. Thank you Ed for being patient and fixing it for me! So I can't get it to let me write in between each picture. Though Rose got many nice presents her favorite seemed to be the box one came in. And of course pictures of her eating her cake.

A long time coming

I haven't posted in a long time and I have had a lot of time to think lately. In the last month I quit my job at Hancock's and got a new job at Beehive Clothing. I work in the temple department on temple clothing. (Go Figure) There I sticker bags for the clothing to go in to and tape guidelines for other people to sew. I was hired to bag things for $8/hr. It was less pay than I got at Hancock's but there aren't any weekends, holidays, or evenings required (except if it's overtime). The holidays are also paid. On my first day was informed I would also be doing the taping. Later that week I found out that the taping was a higher pay and they were gonna change it to that. $9.66/hr. Woo-hoo, now I even get paid more than at my other job! It is a very tiring job, you have to move fast. It is piece rate, so I get paid really for what I do. If I only do 90% of what it should take to do in a day I get 90% of my pay but when I get 110% I get 110% of my pay. The really amazing thing is I am already at and past 100% and it's only my 4th week. My boss told me today how happy she is that she hired me.

Anywho so I have 8 hours a day of mundane tasks and a lot of time to think. Here are some of the things that go through my head:

ding dong the which is dead

I can't believe my 10 year reunion is this year. I graduated 10 years ago and ever since that time I have wanted and looked forward to attending my 10 year reunion. Now guess who isn't attending her 10 year reunion? That's right me. I have decided there isn't money to travel to Arizona to go. I am being an adult about it. Though it is hard.

Well there have been others but when I sit down to write them I forget.

Lego Spiderman

Our home teachers son died last year (I can't remember what it was exactly) but he had been sick for a long time. This year some people from the ward and a local elementary school are doing a tree for him at the festival of trees. For those who don't know what that is, every year at Christmas people donate decorated trees, quilts, and all kinds of things that people buy in a silent auction. All the proceeds go to a hospital here in Utah. They invited people in the ward to participate and I decided to go along with the theme (red, yellow and blue, legos, superheroes) and make a quilt top. This is my finished product...well just the top.

Halloween

We decided to make Rose Raggedy Ann for Halloween. I made the costume and she was quite cute.

My sister gave us a ballet outfit that daddy was sooooo excited to put her in.

Thanks Mom for the cute dress. She will be able to wear it for a while.

New-ish pictures

Finally new pictures of the pipsqueak. Although they are a couple months old they are newer.

Things have been busy for me lately, work has been crazy. I feel bad for any time I do something outside of work without Rose. Last Thursday Ed and I decided to go to the temple which was much needed and a wonderful experience but I felt bad afterward for not spending that time with Rose. It's definitely hard balancing work, a baby and everything else.

Lately it has been real busy around my house. My manager was off for a week and I had the weekend after off, so I worked 11 days straight. It was hard (especially since everything went to pot while she was gone) but I managed.

After my 11 days we went camping with our ward. The only way Ed could get me to go was to borrow his parents tent trailer. It was actually perfect because then we had a heater at night, and we could heat water for Rose. We ended up having a good time and eating some great food by members of our ward (and yummy roasted marshmallows). It was just an over nighter and Ed unfortunately didn't get to go for a hike (he thinks he broke his toe the day before we went). I did find it funny that they announced the bishopric would be making breakfast (before we went) and only the Bishop was there and he wasn't even helping.

Rose is getting bigger. Many people still think she is a newborn. She is almost 4 months now. It is a lot more fun playing with her now that she responds. I have started blowing on her tummy when I change her and she laughs as long as she is not too hungry. When that happens she is just to fussy and it's hurry hurry hurry. We think she is teething, her gums are feeling a little ridgy and she is extremely fussy. Mostly in the afternoon though.

We got Ed's acceptance letter to Weber and he will hopefully start in the fall. We still have a lot to do though before he can go. He has to talk to an advisor about what classes to take because for his major they sometimes want them to take specific core classes. We also found out we didn't do everything for financial aide. We had to fill out the fafsa (which we did) and apply with Weber for financial aide, and bring in our taxes and w-2s from last year. I know we have them somewhere...
Anyway they told us after we do that it's still six weeks (about) until we can get anything. Which is after tuition is due, but they won't drop him from class, we just have to pay a $40 dollar late fee. I have decided I HATE big universities. Even when I was trying to go there it was a lot of crud. We also walked a little of the campus it is way to big for my taste.

I'll have to start taking more pictures to post for Grandma. We'll see how that goes....

New Rose Pictures

While my sister was visiting she took some pictures. Rose went cross-eyed for this picture.

While taking pictures with Grandma Star was holding Roses foot. It was so cute!

Rose's Blessing

WE ended up blessing Rose at home since my dad was only here for a short time and I really wanted him to be there. It was anice day and we took a fewpictures afterward. My mom made her dress. It was perfect!

Ed and his friend showed his nephews how to make their ties
look like bow ties.

Way behind

Well it seems I'm way behind on my posts. Since my last post my little Rose has been born. She decided to scare mommy and daddy and come six weeks early.

I woke up at 3 am to find I was gushing. I knew I wasn't peeing my pants since I had gone about 15 minutes earlier. We rushed to the hospital (after waking my mom up to ask her about it) to find indeed my water had broken. They hooked me up to an IV (it took three pokes, ouch!) and started giving me penicilin and a steroid for Rose. The doctors kept me this way for two days to give the steroids time to work. I was going crazy in bed for those two days. (I now REALLY feel for those who have to be on bedrest) Finally, on Friday they let me go with a little help (half the pitocin they usually use to start you since I was already contracting)

Rose came at 1:27 in the afternoon, she was 18 in and 5 lbs. She came out and started crying right away. The doctors were very pleased since she was so early, it meant her lungs were doing well. She only spent a week in the hospital.

I was very relieved that the labor wasn't as bad as I'd always feared...okay I had an epidural I didn't feel a thing! I did however get to listen to the girl in the next room (she didn't have an epidural until she had been in labor for about five hours) scream. and scream, and scream. Until finally Ed put headphones on me and I listened to music really loud and cried while he listened to her.

Ed did a wonderful job he was at my side the whole time. Helping me to the bathroom in the beginning, getting me water. He watched her come out and went with her to the NICU when I had to stay in the room. I love that man so much.

What do I do?

Today is my Birthday, I am 27 as off two minutes ago. I was supposed to work this morning but due to circumstances at work, I am off. (I worked yesterday instead)
Ed is at work, my sister is at work, my brother is in class (I think), my Grandma isn't home, nor can I call someone to talk. I am not quite sure what to do with myself.
I am antsy to do something other than sit in front of the TV, but being Pregnant I am limited as to what I can do.
There is a lot to do to prepare for the baby coming but first I must decide if I am going to paint the room. It is dark brown panneling with one window about the size of a normal bathroom window. It is dark like a cave. Though painting presents another problem I am not supposed to do it because of the fumes. However, I can't move anything in that room until I decide what to do and do it.
Which leads to I have the messiest (is that right?) house in the world and am desperately needing to clean. Of course most of the items are going to go in the corner of the babies room. Leading back to painting.
I also can't do much lifting since I'm sure the boxes are heavier than I am supposed to lift. Meaning I need someone there to help.
The whole point of this post being I don't know what to do with myself when I don't work now.

Hawaii

We had a lot of fun on our trip to Hawaii. Unfortunately the most pictures we have were taken by my sister since we are not big picture takers. Ok so I am just retarded when it comes to moving these pictures. I can never figure it out.
